Downstairs at the front is a comfortable lounge with 2 sofas and a coffee table. It has a Freeview HD-TV, a DVD player with a selection of family and children’s DVDs and an HDMI cable for you to plug in your own computer consoles and games machines. There is no wi-fi, but you will find a selection of boxed games and books, including bedtime story books to read to your children.
In the centre of the house is a light and airy fitted kitchen, with cooker, microwave, toaster, fridge-freezer, dishwasher, washing machine and tumble dryer.
Off the kitchen is the bathroom with bath and shower over, low lvel WC and washbasin with mirror, shaving point and cupboard.
At the rear of the house is the dining room with large dining table and chairs, and 2 comfortable chairs and coffee table to sit and take in the spectacular views. Patio doors lead to the raised decking area, patio and the garden beyond.
Upstairs has 3 bedrooms, a double with king size bed, TV and views across the river, a twin and a single with more of that wonderful view. The beds in the twin and single rooms are full sized, with double duvets, not child sized beds.
This is what our Assessor from the Family Friendly organisation said “The mattresses are very comfortable. when Thomas was tucked up in bed on the first evening he said “Mummy this bed is glorious” which did make me giggle.”
Outside is a patio with barbecue, a decked area with table for eating al fresco, a tap and hanging area for wet suits to drip-dry, and a garden with seating to relax and watch the tide and river change as the sun goes down, or for the children to play. It includes the children’s colourful “imagination area”.
Another quote from our Family Friendly Assessor “Lily and Thomas spent many hours playing out here and we enjoyed soaking up the sun with a glass of wine on the benches that are provided. There is also a barbecue area and a picnic table which is separate from the play area. This will give peace of mind to anxious parents (like me) who get totally stressed when there’s a lit barbecue within 10 feet of children!”
For our little visitors: you can be sure we have families at heart – after all very few cottages have won the Approved Family Friendly gold Award. We provide children’s cutlery and crockery, a high chair and a travel cot and plug in night-lights are provided. Cot bedding, a second high chair, a second travel cot, a child’s toilet seat and a bed guard can all be supplied on request. And if there is anything else you think might be useful, please just ask – we may well be able to help.
The cottage is well equipped, fully central heated and includes all linen and towels, with comfortable beds and duvets. We’re sorry but we do not take smokers, dogs or other pets please.
